The European Association for e-Identity and Security adds Adobe Systems to its growing corporate membership |

eema, the European association for e-identity and security, has announced that Adobe Systems Incorporated has signed as its newest member. Adobe joins over 160 member organisations from across Europe that comprise the independent non-profit body.
As an eema member, Adobe will be privy to insights into the key IT industry trends and issues, as well as the work being done to address them. Through its agenda of seminars, events and Regional Interest Groups, eema provides a pan-European forum for members to discuss experiences and needs with others in a similar situation. It also has an important role in making the voices of its members heard with vendors, standards organisations and governmental bodies.
"Adobe recognises the importance of e-identity and security, and applies standards and best practices in developing our products to deliver more secure, trusted and engaging user experiences,' said John Landwehr, Director of Security Solutions and Strategy at Adobe. "We look forward to collaborating with eema's members to further advance software security."
Executive Director of eema, Roger Dean comments: "Adobe is a global pioneer in electronic documents. Its technologies - in particular the continued innovations in PDF technology - play a vital role in many initiatives surrounding e-identity and interoperability that eema supports. So, on behalf of the association and all of its members, I warmly welcome Adobe to eema."
Adobe's first activity as a member of eema will be to deliver a keynote presentation at the eema sponsored Information Security Solutions Europe (ISSE) 2009, where the PDF Platform Architect at Adobe, USA, Jim King will address open standards for electronic documents.
ISSE 2009 takes place at The Hague (Den Haag), The Netherlands, from 6th to the 8th October.
Any organisation or individual (typically global or pan-European organisations with a vested interest in e-identity and security) are welcome to join eema. All employees of member organisations can take advantage of eema activities, and become involved with any aspect of the association.
