ADI Global Distribution to handle DVR products from Digimerge

Digimerge enters distribution agreement for Europe with ADI Global Distribution for its range of DVR and surveillance camera products
ADI Global Distribution to handle DVR products from Digimerge
Digimerge, the Canadian-based DVR and camera manufacturer, has signed an exclusive European distribution agreement with ADI Global Distribution.

ADI Global Distribution is committed to delivering quality lines at competitive prices and Digimerge has met these criteria with an innovative range of high-capacity network DVRs as well as colour day/night cameras and IP network cameras including domes.

Wayne Hurd, Executive VP Sales & Marketing at Digimerge, said: "We recognised that ADI Global Distribution has an unrivalled branch network and in turn they appreciated the value of our own offering. Customers will benefit from extensive stock holdings for both on-the-spot and next-day delivery from ADI Global Distribution branches."

Wayne continued: "Digimerge gave serious thought to what our distribution channel in Europe should be and it became obvious that working with ADI-Gardiner was the way forward. We are also offering exceptional warranty levels on our products, with the first stage of these being immediate replacement at an ADI Global Distribution branch. This is another convenient plus-point for installers and will reduce down-times if a spare is not available on site."

The no-quibble nature of Digimerge's warranties was one of the many factors that prompted ADI Global Distribution to carry the products on an exclusive basis. The distributor was also impressed that unlike the vast majority of exporters, notably from Asia, Digimerge has invested heavily in setting up both warehousing and sales/technical support from a UK base in Shannon, Ireland. The two parties have developed confidence in the other and with distributors striving to distinguish themselves from competitors, this kind of alliance can make products attractive to integrators.

Wayne Hurd expanded on the rationale behind the agreement: "A benefit of having an exclusivity deal is that a distributor like ADI Global Distribution which employs high quality pre-sales personnel can be confident that staff can invest time with an installer explaining product functionality and giving informed advice on products suitable for a particular site without fear of ultimately losing the sale to a competitor on negligible price differentiation."

Digimerge and ADI Global Distribution will engage in ongoing promotion and point-of-sale activity in coming months. A flagship product that will be of immediate interest to installers working on IP-addressable systems is the DHU500 series of Pentaplex network DVRs with Seagate hard drives.
