AccessStick certified for use with Citrix Access Gateway.

Accario : 23 October, 2007  (New Product)
USB based biometric access control gains citrix ready certification for portable device protection.
Accario it has completed all requirements for achieving 'Citrix Ready' status for its flagship AccessStick portable client security system. AccessStick provides world leading portable client security via a biometrically secured USB device to simplify connectivity and improve security for organisations requiring remote access to corporate applications. AccessStick works with the Citrix Access Gateway SSL VPN solution to provide secure access to corporate information and assets.

"AccessStick provides an innovative set of features to help Citrix users get the best from our Access Gateway platform," said Phil Montgomery, director of product marketing, Application Networking Group for Citrix Systems. "By working closely with developers through our Citrix Ready program we are able to maintain the highest standards of compatibility and performance across a wide range of third party developed hardware and software applications."

SSL VPN technology has quickly established a significant share of the remote access market. Additionally, Citrix Access Gateway's built in SmartAccess capabilities address organisational needs to validate and enforce endpoint security. Administrators can set highly granular policies that dictate varying levels of access to corporate resources based upon the "level of trust" in the user and device requesting such access.

To further secure and simplify the use of Access Gateway, AccessStick embeds all the necessary software required to connect which can only be launched by a user authenticated via biometric sensor built into the unit. In operation, AccessStick Users simply insert the devices into any USB port of an internet connected Windows client and after local biometric authentication, the pre-determined corporate remote access system is launched without any installation, elevated privileges or user intervention.

"Verification and compatibility testing is an essential element in building a trusted product and we are pleased with the endorsement from Citrix as to the suitability of AccessStick within Access Gateway environments," comments Brian DaBinett, Co-Founder and CEO of Accario, "We already have a number of pilot projects nearing completion and look forward to showcasing AccessStick during Citrix iForum 07."
