ABS technology helps overcome IP streaming bandwidth problems

NetAvis : 13 July, 2009  (New Product)
Observer 3.4 from Netavis incorporates new Adaptive Balanced Streaming technology for getting the most from limited bandwidth on IP surveillance networks
Netavis Software has released the latest version 3.4 of Observer in the end of June 2009. This new version enhances the so far existing features of Observer 3.1 by several new, in some ways revolutionary, features.

The feature highlights of Observer 3.4 are:

* Client-on-Server
* Unique ABS Technology
* PTZ priority
* Recording button

"With version 3.4, and especially the revolutionary ABS Technology, Netavis is once again one step ahead", states Wolfgang Baumgartner, CEO of Netavis Software.

Observer 3.4 offers a functional and high-performance Client-on-Server solution. The client can be installed and started on the server, automatically. As there is no need for an own PC anymore, cost can be reduced significantly.

Mostly, when using video applications between two different sites or the headquarters, only a limited bandwidth is at your disposal. This fact makes the usage of new MegaPixel cameras almost impossible. However, thanks to the unique ABS (Adaptive Balanced Streaming) technology of Netavis, it is possible to transfer a maximum of audio and video data via an extremely limited bandwidth. Herewith Observer 3.4 guarantees that the application does not consume more bandwidth than assigned. Hence, the bandwidth can be reduced extremely and managed in an optimal way.

Several different user priority profiles for the PTZ camera control can be assigned through the new PTZ priority function of Observer 3.4. For instance, profiles like "Head of Security", "Security Assistant" and "normal staff" can be applied. As soon as the Head of Security accesses the PTZ control, the highest priority is assigned to this profile, ensuring that only the Head of Security can access the PTZ camera in this moment.

The new recording button in Observer 3.4 enables to activate and deactivate the adjusted permanent recordings easily and without any problems. The benefit of it is that recordings can be started and stopped on demand.

Observer 3.4 is now available at all certificated Netavis partners.
