The second annual Cyber Security Challenge is open for entries. The competition is free to enter and offers cyber security entrepreneurs and researchers the opportunity to showcase their technology and compete for a cash prize of $10,000 provided by our sponsor BAE Systems. In addition the winner will benefit from mentorship by the world acclaimed global management consulting firm, Accenture. All entries receive expert feedback from our panel of independent judges with the finalists competing at the Global Security Challenge Summit on November 11 and 12, 2010 in London. This major event offers unpatrolled networking opportunities with senior government officials, industry leaders and possible investment partners.

The world wide threat from cyber attack is growing as more and more information and data is stored online. At the same time, cyber security threats are becoming more pervasive, damaging, and elusive. There is a critical need for cyber security technologies that protect government and industry cyber assets.

The 2010 Cyber Security Challenge is sponsored by Accenture and BAE Systems. It will offer IT security specialists, researchers and SMEs the opportunity to showcase their technological innovations that can prevent, defend against, recover from or cope with terrorist incidents and other criminal acts in the digital/online space.

Rewards will be based on the disruptive potential of the technologies, and will focus less on their maturity. We strongly encourage researchers and infant companies to enter this competition as our goal is to support the development of innovative technologies and ensure their success

Running alongside the Cyber Challenge, innovators can also enter the Global Security Challenge where entrants compete for cash grants of $500,000USD provided by the United States Department of Defence. The entry deadline for this challenge is August 6th 2010. There is no bar on entering both challenges as the judging criteria is different for each challenge.

Last year's Cyber Security Challenge winners, KSplice, commented on their win "We were honoured to win the inaugural Cyber Security Challenge competition last year. "Whilst winning the top prize was indeed an honour what was also very useful was the feedback from the judges which has helped shape our thinking in the year since our victory"

Applicants can enter the competition, on the GSC's website. Entry is free and all submissions will receive feedback. The deadline for applications is September 15, 2010 and details can be found on the Global Security Challenge website.
