Surveillant Integration with Avigilon Control Center

Proximex : 04 August, 2010
Proximex has achieved integration of it's Surveillant physical security information management system with the Control Center Video Management System for High Definition surveillance systems from Avigilon
Proximex has announced a technology integration with Avigilon, a supplier of high definition (HD) and MegaPixel video surveillance systems. Under the terms of this agreement, Proximex Surveillint can bi-directionally interface, communicate and integrate with all Avigilon Control Center HD systems to relate video with information from other physical security systems for better incident response and evidence to support/refute liability claims. The Proximex-Avigilon integration is being used today by organizations such as one of the nation's busiest container ports and a major public assembly facility.

"Sports arenas, like other types of public assembly facilities, are sensitized and vigilant in quickly responding to incidents involving their fans, guests and employees," said Dave Tynan, vice president of global sales and marketing for Avigilon. "The integration between Avigilon High Definition video systems and Proximex Surveillint provides security operators the potential of instantaneous access to indisputable video, so personnel can better mitigate risk and more effectively respond to incidents."

The Avigilon HD Platform Integration Module for Surveillint lets security operators view live and recorded video, and then relate that video with data from other physical security systems, such as access control, fire and intrusion devices. This integration of high-definition video with additional data and displayed in one centralized command and control centre gives security personnel more related information to access incident situations and respond if necessary. For example, when customers use Surveillint with the Avigilon HD platform, it provides a more comprehensive view of an area than standard definition (SD) video cameras alone. The video and additional data can also be collected and used as evidence for legal actions.

The integration module allows individual cameras and associated recorded video from the Avigilon HD platform to be viewed and controlled through the Surveillint user interface. Operators can perform basic video management tasks, such as play live video, take video still images and export video, as well as use live or recorded video with Proximex EZ Track, a patent-pending video investigation solution that tracks individuals across multiple cameras. The Avigilon HD platform supports analogue cameras, third party IP cameras or Avigilon branded cameras, allowing for the Proximex Surveillint interface to manage a hybrid video surveillance system.

"While external threats such as terrorism and natural disasters are serious concerns for sports arenas, the most common cause of security incidents is unruly patrons," said Larry Lien, vice president of product management for Proximex. "Unfortunately, many incidents involving visitors, such as slips-and-falls and fights, cannot be proved due to lack of evidence and organizations spend millions of dollars each year on false liability claims. Public assembly facilities currently using the Proximex-Avigilon integration track the video history of incidents to ensure that they and their patrons have a complete understanding of events that took place, providing safety and security to both the arenas and their patrons."
