Augusta Systems and The Mariner Group have signed a reseller agreement. Through the agreement, Mariner will sell Augusta Systems EdgeFrontier, a complete middleware platform for building and managing complex monitoring, control and automation solutions.
"Augusta Systems EdgeFrontier powers the intelligent convergence of data from diverse sources, providing new opportunities for users of Mariner's CommandBridge situation-awareness software platform," said Patrick Esposito, president and chief operating officer of Augusta Systems. "Through the combined capabilities of EdgeFrontier and CommandBridge, Mariner's clients are provided with an integrated solution for port security and other critical infrastructure protection."
EdgeFrontier products from Augusta Systems support integration and normalization of data, events and control functions from diverse devices, systems and networks, regardless of manufacturer or communications protocol, including sensors, wireless sensor networks, RFID systems, video devices and systems, access control systems, metering and measurement devices, actuators, databases, file repositories and other sources. In addition, EdgeFrontier provides structures for event processing and configuration of event or policy-based actions through a policy engine.
CommandBridge, Mariner's flagship technology, provides users with a highly configurable, security-based, situation-awareness software platform. Its web-based technology allows watch-standers, command-and-control centers, intelligence analysts and others to collaboratively interpret information and make actionable recommendations, rather than merely collect and display data.
Through the reseller agreement, Mariner will offer EdgeFrontier to clients to provide a simplified integration platform that enables convergence of diverse devices and systems and supports remote, localized event or policy-based processing of data and events to push intelligence beyond the data center, throughout the network infrastructure. These capabilities eliminate the need for custom interface development and allow for enhanced information management for CommandBridge users.
