The gateProtect VPN client has been re-released at version three with VPN over SSL and IPSec standard support as well as improved dropped connection management |

gateProtect has announced that Version 3.0 of its VPN client is now available. It includes several enhancements compared to the previous version, such as support for hibernation mode and better handling of dropped connections. A trial version, valid for 45 days, can be downloaded from the company's website.
V3.0 of gateProtect's VPN client features several improvements compared to the previous version. These include enhanced support for hibernation mode in laptops, as well as improved handling of dropped connections and faster user interface response. In addition, the new version saves the position and size of windows, eliminating the previous version's dependence on Microsoft Windows runtime libraries.
gateProtect's VPN client supports both IPSec and VPN over SSL standards, enabling customers to provide multiple applications - such as terminal servers - via an SSL VPN tunnel. As the gateProtect solution uses X.509 certificates, VPN-over-SSL connections benefit from security standards similar to those of IPSec-based connections, yet with the significantly greater flexibility that VPN-over-SSL tunnelling provides. The VPN client also supports the Single Click Connection developed by gateProtect. This lets users set up a VPN tunnel with just one mouse click, based on the configuration file exported from the firewall.
