The IQeye range of megapixel cameras from IQinVision now enable via:sys video analytics to run on the camera providing bandwidth saving edge intelligence
IQinVision has developed new firmware that enables customers to run the complete suite of via:sys video analytics on IQeye megapixel network cameras, making the world’s smartest megapixel network camera even smarter.Running via:sys alarm detection and intrusion analytics on IQeye network cameras minimizes the amount of video data sent over the network and reduces the amount of processing the server has to handle. This provides more video channels and enables the analytics to work with raw, uncorrupted video before it is compressed. By eliminating the burdensome process of running analytics on remote servers where the video has to be streamed over the network, decompressed, analysed and then recompressed for storage, end users receive very high-quality video with extensive, actionable forensic detail. Today, most video analytics products run on remote servers, not on the cameras. This approach bogs down even the most sophisticated computers and limits the number of video channels that can be analyzed. “Most video analytics companies we’ve looked at promise customers performance that can only be achieved in a controlled laboratory,” explained Paul Bodell, IQinVision Chief Marketing Officer. “via:sys offers a reliable product that is simple to configure, works well in most real-market conditions, and is affordable.” via:sys Edge Analytics runs on all IQeye products and installed IQeye cameras can be field upgraded.
