Tracking products from US company, Digital Angel to be distributed to Marine companies in Croatia, Montenegro and Iceland through new distribution agreements
Digital Angel has announced that its McMurdo division has secured new distribution arrangements in Croatia, Montenegro and Iceland. McMurdo has appointed Croatia-based distributor Crocon to handle distribution in Croatia and Montenegro. Crocon is an established distributor for a number of key marine suppliers, including Aquasignal, Honeywell and Raytheon, and specialises in the supply of equipment and materials to commercial shipping and naval vessels. The company’s client base includes the region’s shipbuilding and ship-owning industries. Crocon will be supplying McMurdo’s Smartfind EPIRBs, Fastfind PLBs, Rescue SARTs, VHF Radios and NAVTEX to a region with a long history of shipbuilding, much of it with Russia, its most important trading partner. Shipbuilding accounts for some 15% of Croatia’s exports. In Iceland, McMurdo has appointed Brimrun EHF, which will be responsible for sales of the same range of products, primarily to the fishing sector, as well as to workboats and commercial shipping enterprises. Brimrun, founded in 1992, is a well-established marine equipment supplier. The company is the main agent for Furuno Marine Electronics of Iceland, which for over 16 years has concentrated on the country’s maritime sector, providing navigational, fish-finding and communications equipment. Joseph Grillo, Chief Executive Officer of Digital Angel, said, 'We are delighted to have entered into partnerships with these top-flight distributors. Croatia has a highly-skilled workforce and shipbuilding is a key industry in the region. In Iceland, 70% of the economy and 10% of the workforce rely upon the offshore fishing industry, in a climate where there is a strong awareness of safety and safety procedures. We look forward to good incremental sales through these newly-opened channels.”
