Extio F1400 displays to be demonstrated for emergency control room personnel in Kansas City

Matrox Graphics, provider of the most extensive range of multi-display graphics solutions for public safety communications and dispatch, will demonstrate the Extio F1400 multi-display remote graphics unit (RGU).

Extio will be displayed on an AFC Industries electronic, height-adjustable console for command and control environments.

The events will take place on the following dates at the Kansas City Convention Centre.

Monday, August 4th, 2008: 10:30 am - 4:30 pm.
Tuesday, August 5th, 2008: 9:30 am - 4:00 pm.
Wednesday, August 6th, 2008: 9:30 am - 1:00 pm.

'The Matrox Extio F1400 device was instrumental in enabling us to reduce noise levels and address heat concerns at the emergency communications operator consoles,' says Roger Waller, CAD Systems Manager, Technology Specialist, Arlington County Office of Emergency Management - Public Safety Emergency Communications Center. 'The ability to separate each CAD workstation from the operator consoles by a single fiber-optic cable, as well as the advanced multi-display support and image quality made possible with this device were key factors in determining our selection of this technology. The Extio F1400 RGUs have helped us to meet one of our goals for this 24/7 operation—to design a more comfortable work environment within which to maximize productivity.'

The Matrox Extio F1400 multi-display RGU enables the extension of up to four displays, audio and six USB devices by up to 820 feet of fiber-optic cable. In addition, the Extio F1400 features passive (fanless) cooling and PCI Express technology, which makes it an ideal solution for professional and mission critical applications requiring a reliable graphics and I/O extension solution. By separating the computer from the monitors and user-interface components, the Extio Series of products helps address issues such as security, heat, noise, system maintenance, and support in high-reliability computing environments.
