IP video platform on show at Essen

With H.264 encoding, megapixel camera support and video analytics, Netavis IP video platform goes digital for Security Essen this year

From the 7th to the 10th of October 2008, the 18th Security – Global Fair for Security and Fire Protection with Congress – takes place in Essen. This year, several exhibitors from all over the world will again introduce their products and services and Netavis will be amongst them. Visitors will have the opportunity to acquaint themselves live in Hall 2 / Stand 512 with the new features of Netavis Observer 3. The focus will be on iCAT – a toolbox for Video Analytics developed by Netavis, the video format H.264 and the substantial improvements in support of mega pixel cameras. Additionally Netavis “big installations“ and industry solutions for retail will be shown.

Netavis Observer has established itself as flagship product within the video surveillance business. With the 3rd generation of video- and audio management software – the Netavis Observer 3 – a professional Video Analysis is not a vision any more. Netavis Observer 3 is an open, secure and robust software platform for IP-based audio and video surveillance offering live viewing, recording, video analysis and alarm management. It is totally scalable, runs on standard hardware and allows easy integration with many different security systems and business applications.

Netavis Observer 3 augments the already existing features of Observer II by the toolbox iCAT. This is a module for Video Analytics, developed by Netavis. Additionally it serves as generic interface available for external applications.

“Video Analysis is going to be the mega trend of the next years. With iCAT we can offer our customers this trend already”, says Wolfgang Baumgartner, CEO of Netavis Software. The integrated Video Analysis of Netavis can be utilised for classic video surveillance (CCTV) as well as for “non security” applications, like for instance customer frequency measurements.

With Netavis Observer 3, the video format H.264 and substantial improvements in support of mega pixel cameras will be offered in addition.
