Flexible conduit at Arsenal’s new Emirates stadium protects wiring for emergency lighting and CCTV systems

Flexible conduit systems from Adaptaflex are used extensively throughout the impressive new Emirates Stadium, home of Arsenal Football Club, protecting wiring systems for power, lighting and CCTV.

Electrical installation on the stadium was carried out by Goodmarriott & Hursthouse.electrical and mechanical engineers who installed over 12,500 light fittings, 50km of sub-main cables and over 5400 individual electric circuits and at its peak had over 200 operatives working on site.

Lighting systems throughout the stadium, including emergency lighting, utilize Adaptaflex flexible conduit systems including Adaptalok and Type SP running from conduit runs through to the fittings and protecting the wiring. Similarly, on CCTV applications the flexible conduit systems encase the umbilicals of the system ensuring both a fully protected and flexible systems is in place.

“Being UK market leader and having availability of product were significant factors in winning the supply to this prestigious project,” explained Dave White, Adaptaflex Sales Director. “We were able to supply the necessary product from our extensive flexible conduit range.

“The product selection was further supported with timely availability from the Adaptaflex network of stocking distributors.”

Another factor was that the electrical contractors, Goodmarriott & Hursthouse, were able to order all the products via Newey & Eyre in Nottingham who in turn arranged delivery to the site via its local branch near Highbury. Working closely with the distributor meant deliveries were arranged to coincide with product requirement onsite.
