The StoneGate SSL VPN 1.2 provides administrative ease combined with full mobility and strong security
Stonesoft introduces the StoneGate SSL VPN 1.2 for full mobility, security and ease of administration. With the new version, log details and monitoring of SSL VPN appliances are integrated with StoneGate Management Centre, providing a centralised view of all remote connections. The StoneGate SSL VPN 1.2 enables organisations to offer their employees and partners controlled, secure, and flexible access to important data from anywhere, at any time and with any device. The administrator can now easily access log data and monitor the status of SSL VPN appliances, as well as all other StoneGate network security appliances, via the monitoring view of StoneGate Management Centre. “StoneGate SSL VPN 1.2 further strengthens our comprehensive network security offering, making the administration of SSL VPN appliances easier, more transparent and more cost-efficient than ever before. Instead of having to switch between separate views to monitor the status of different network security appliances, the administrator now has a unified view of all central security components like remote access gateways, firewalls and intrusion prevention systems” highlights Klaus Majewski, VP of marketing at Stonesoft. The administrator can view the status of SSL VPN appliances as well as other monitoring information, such as the CPU load, from the monitoring view of StoneGate Management Centre. Resource unavailability can be noticed before it becomes a problem for remote users, and audits and reports required for regulatory compliance are created easily. In practice, this further improves the security of the information flow between the organisation, its partners, customers and employees, regardless of where they are and which devices they use to communicate with each other. StoneGate SSL VPN also offers enhanced load balancing features, with the StoneGate Server Pool Monitoring Agent. StoneGate Firewall can act as a load balancer for a cluster of SSL VPN appliances. In SSL VPN cluster both nodes are always active, so hardware investments are continuously in efficient use. If one node fails, the remaining node will handle the connections, allowing remote users to maintain the access to the required resources.
