Enterprise firewall solutions from Palo Alto Networks to form part of the overall enterprise security offering from ITC Global Security
ITC Global Security and Palo Alto Networks have signed a formal agreement to authorise ITC to deliver Palo Alto Networks’ next generation enterprise firewall solutions. Palo Alto Networks are challenging market perceptions by re-inventing firewall technology. Together with ITC, a leading IT services provider, they are poised to take enterprise security to new levels. Their next generation firewalls are unique because they enable enterprises to see and control applications, users, and content – not just ports, IP addresses and packets.
Partnering with industry innovators such as Palo Alto Networks supports ITC’s growth objectives by extending their services portfolio and ensuring it is offering the latest industry leading solutions to their customers. This new partnership dovetails with ITC’s extensive knowledge of the IT security market and is a good fit for many existing ITC clients and well as new ones.
Customers gain by using three identification technologies; App-ID, User-ID, and Content-ID; which allows them to create business-relevant security policies instead of the conventional ‘all-or-nothing’ approach offered by traditional port-blocking firewalls.
According to Gartner, “Through until 2012, enterprises that take a ‘block or ignore’ stance toward employee use of consumer IT will incur security incident costs two to four times those of enterprises that use ‘embrace or contain’ strategies…Gartner believes that enterprises should provide secure solutions for dealing with the consumerisation of IT; offering a limited, constrained secure capability or building security into such uses will be the only effective and efficient security strategy.”
