Sourcefire gains entry into Gartner’s magic quadrant for network intrusion prevention software suppliers.

Open source innovator and Snort creator, Sourcefire has recently announced that Gartner has positioned the company in the Leaders Quadrant of the “Magic Quadrant for Network Intrusion Prevention System Appliances, 1H08”1 report. The Magic Quadrant evaluates vendors based on their vision and ability to execute and positions them in one of the following quadrants: Leaders, Visionaries, Challengers or Niche Players.

“Sourcefire strives to provide our customers with the strongest possible security solutions that align with our unique vision for the industry and threat landscape, and we are proud to be recognised in the Leaders Quadrant of Gartner’s Network Intrusion Prevention Report,” said Wayne Jackson, Chairman and CEO of Sourcefire. “In my opinion, this Magic Quadrant not only validates our vision and execution, but it also inspires our entire team to deliver even greater innovation and customer focused solutions that address real-world security requirements.”
