Netfence from phion to provide protection to critical communication infrastructure at PVC manufacturer
phion is now providing protection for the electronic communication of PVC manufacturer Vinnolit. This company is among the world’s top 10 manufacturers of PVC raw materials. Its use of phion’s netfence solution, which is being completely administered by the IT service provider InfraServ Gendorf, highlights the fact that yet another well-known company has opted to use phion solutions. The crucial factor in this decision was the facility for administering phion netfence centrally and its efficiency. Vinnolit’s production site at Gendorf in Germany is integrated into the infrastructure of a chemical industrial park. Over the years, Vinnolit, along with the other companies in this industrial park, created a tightly woven IT infrastructure, which made the logical separation of all the data-related areas necessary. In addition, a uniform IT infrastructure was to be created which new companies could become integrated in quickly and cost-effectively. By choosing phion netfence Vinnolit opted for a solution which best met its requirements in terms of security functions, reporting functions and central management via an external service provider. In this case, the netfence solution was offered purely as a service. InfraServ Gendorf, which has been a partner of phion’s for many years, helped to set up a central management centre for administering all the netfence gateways currently being used at Vinnolit. “When it comes to the issue of security in particular, we need a partner that we can trust.
