April Gartner report lists GrIDsure in line up of application security and authentication vendors.
GrIDsure has announced that Gartner has named GrIDsure in its 'Cool Vendors in Application Security and Authentication, 2008”. The April 2008 report was written by Ray Wagner, Joseph Feiman, Neil MacDonald, Arabella Hallawell, Ant Allan, and Gregg Kreizman. Jonathan Craymer, GrIDsure’s chairman said: “We’re delighted to have been selected by Gartner for inclusion in its application security and authentication ‘Cool Vendor’ group. It makes us feel just a little humble to be in the company of the other four on the list who are at the cutting-edge of their own respective fields. “GrIDsure’s ease-of-use and ability to add extra security layers to virtually any system or electronic device, ranging from mobile and web banking to password protection and building security, with strong but simple personal authentication, has won it a lot of plaudits since its inception. But when an influential firm like Gartner evaluates us, we feel it really is confirmation that GrIDsure has something major to offer. “Fixed-string passwords, PINs and combinations no longer provide sufficient protection for everything from corporate logins to banking and e-commerce, with today’s major threats like key-logging, screen-scraping, shoulder-surfing, till tampering and covert surveillance cameras. Many of us in the modern world have to ‘log in’ to tills, ATMs, phones, computers, door entry systems and others on a daily basis – and we’re hoping GrIDsure can help ‘raise the bar’ when people do all these things in future. For instance our vision is to have everyone who currently logs in to Windows systems using standard passwords, converted to GrIDsure OTP within five years.” GrIDsure is on stand G245 at the Information Security Europe show in London (22-24th April), and several of its partners will present their own ‘GrIDsure embedded’ products and systems.
