Opening of US sales office marks Bloxx’s thrust into the north American market with its innovative web filtering technology

Bloxx continues its international expansion by opening its first North American sales office to support increasing demand for its revolutionary web filtering technology. The new operation is based in Burlington, Massachusetts and will be headed up by former Sales and Marketing Director of Bloxx Ltd., Paul Irvine, who brings with him an in-depth knowledge of the technology and a wealth of invaluable insight from the UK web filtering market.

This move to the US follows a rapid increase in sales since the launch of Bloxx’s third-generation web filtering technology last year. Developed by Bloxx and with international patents pending, Tru-View Technology combines the best of conventional web filtering methods with real-time analysis, identification and categorisation of web pages. This approach allows web pages to be categorised at the point they are requested and is the only viable way to keep up-to-date with the dramatic growth and dynamic nature of the web.

“Up to this point in time, web filtering suppliers have been fixated by the race to see who can build the largest URL database,” said President of Bloxx Inc, Paul Irvine. “However, even if you build and maintain a database of 60 million URLs, the reality is that you are filtering less than 1% of available web pages on the Internet. As the Internet continues to grow at such a remarkable rate, we believe that real-time categorisation is the only realistic and effective means of providing the level of online safety and security that customers require.”

“The consolidation in the web filtering market over the past few years has significantly reduced customer choice. Tru-View Technology reduces IT management time, improves network security and most importantly, increases online safety for users. In addition to this, our unique “no cost per user” pricing model reduces the costs traditionally associated with web filtering appliances. This is great news for North American IT managers who may be frustrated with their current suppliers,” adds Irvine.

“Based on the rapid adoption of Tru-View Technology in Europe and Australia, we believe the time is right for us to continue our global expansion,” said Bloxx’s UK Chief Executive Officer, Eamonn Doyle. “North America is a huge opportunity for us and we believe we can rapidly build a substantial and viable business.”
