Secure payments with cashless payment cards now possible with vOpen Cashless, an RFID reader for cashless vending kiosks

Idesco’s 9 CL Quattro reader technology has been integrated into a cashless vending solution for the vending and kiosk industry by Vianet, a UK-based company which specialises in vending management applications.

The product, vOpen Cashless, is a revolutionary cashless payment system for vending which creates an interface between the vending machine, many users of RFID smart cards and a comprehensive back-office management system.

The 9CL multi-technology reader allows the vOpen Cashless terminal to read a multitude of identifiers of RFID card technologies, including ISO14443, ISO15693 and LEGIC Prime. This combined with the “online” nature of vOpen Cashless allows participating customers to utilize their existing RFID cards (keys, badges, fob, key-rings, etc), delivering a substantial saving to vending operator as against issuing new cards.

The vOpen Cashless solution delivers unprecedented levels of security for “closed user group” cashless environments, and delivers remote control and insight for the management and administration of a scheme. Using the GPRS network, the vOpen Cashless terminal – incorporating the Idesco reader – processes all cashless transactions in real time.

Vianet has been providing telemetry solutions to the vending industry for over 7 years, with solutions to meet every requirement and fit every budget, from local and regional operators looking to manage operations more efficiently and save cost, to brands seeking to integrate point of purchase data into the planning process.

“Idesco have a large and broad product range from which we selected a number of products for our vOpen Cashless solution, including the 9CL. We chose Idesco because they delivered excellent, functionally-extendible solutions that met our unique vending requirements and they provided competent and efficient support throughout.” says Nicolas Mackie, Project Manager, Vianet.
