Internet Single Sign on delivered as SaaS application to Salesforce.com enabling single click access
Ping Identity has integrated its Internet Single Sign-On products with Salesforce to deliver a universal login that ties together different SaaS and Internet-based application environments by managing user access and authentication in the cloud. Users can now login to the Salesforce portal, then directly access their other Internet-based applications, by simply clicking a link. No further authentication is required, minimizing login failures and password resets. “Working in close partnership with Salesforce.com, Ping Identity has developed the first Internet Identity solution that enables any Salesforce.com application to act as an identity provider to Cloud or on-premise applications,” said Chris Ceppi, Ping Identity’s Director of Global Strategic Alliances. “Users who have an authenticated session in a Salesforce CRM portal or Force.com application can now use that session to gain seamless access to any number of other Cloud-based applications.”
For Salesforce customers who are juggling user access to Salesforce and to several other SaaS applications, Ping Identity’s on premise software (PingFederate) and on-demand service (PingConnect) for Internet SSO extend the ‘reach’ of Salesforce portal login credentials to hundreds of SaaS applications, including Google Enterprise, WebEx, Concur, SuccessFactors and others. In addition to supporting traditional Salesforce customers, Ping Identity also supports business and consumer service providers, such as banks, online trading services and HR outsourcers, with a way to manage all of their Internet-based customer user accounts via the Salesforce portal. This provides an alternative to site-based corporate directories (Active Directory or LDAP). The result is a pure Cloud-based solution that includes the authentication mechanism and SSO necessary to securely manage customer access to applications in the Cloud. “We are seeing a growing number of clients in search of a more efficient way to manage the hundreds and thousands of client users accessing their Internet-based applications and services,” said WDCi CTO Walter Dewildt. “With Ping Identity’s Universal Login, Salesforce becomes the hosted identity provider, reducing license, infrastructure and ongoing maintenance costs of traditional identity stores, while leveraging the Salesforce platform’s reliability and security.” Ping Identity delivers technical innovation that secures business relationships across the Cloud. Ping Identity is the only vendor with full standards-based Single Sign-On support for Salesforce CRM, The Force.com platform and Chatter.
