Total Security 2009 from BitDefender awarded VB100 certification after successful completion of Windows XP test

BitDefender Total Security 2009 has achieved VB100 certification from Virus Bulletin. Some 39 products were tested on the Windows XP SP3 platform for this latest comparative review. Full results have been published in the April edition of Virus Bulletin.

In order to display the VB100 logo, an anti-virus product must show that it will detect all viruses currently spreading throughout a diverse user population during both on-demand and on-access scanning. There should also be no “false positives” when scanning a set of clean files.

Commenting on this achievement, BitDefender’s chief technology officer,Bogdan Dumitru said. “BitDefender prides itself in offering only the most up-to-date, proactive malware protection for its customers, Receiving another VB100 certification from Virus Bulletin for BitDefender Total Security 2009 proves yet again that we have one of the most powerful and effective security solutions available to detect and disinfect all malicious e-threats.”

BitDefender Total Security 2009 provides comprehensive proactive protection against all Internet security threats, along with system maintenance and backup, without slowing system performance.
