Now, the NSI provides a standard setting role for these areas and for fire protection. The mission of the NSI is to improve standards in both the fire and security industries and provides approval certification to suppliers in these markets.
To achieve certification, companies must prove on-going competence, meet European and British industrial standards, have comprehensive liability insurance and have a screening system in place for security staff members along with continuous training and development.
The NSI stand at IFSEC in Birmingham in May will be the venue for gaining information on the organisation's certification schemes relating to electronic security system installers and manned guarding companies
